  2. Right to Delete Personal Information: You have the right to request that App Academy delete personal information we may hold about you.  Please be aware that we may not always be able to delete your personal information.  For example, there may be business or operational reasons why we need to retain personal information.  If we deny your request to delete personal information, we will inform you of the basis for our denial in our response to you.
  3. Right to Opt-Out of Sale of Personal Information:  You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information.  In addition, if you direct us not to sell your personal information, we will consider it a request pursuant to California’s “Shine the Light” law to stop sharing your personal information covered by that law with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

Exercising Your Privacy Rights

To exercise your rights, you must submit a verifiable request to us.  You may exercise each right once every twelve (12) months.  To submit a data rights request, please use one of the methods described below:

App Academy will need to verify your identity first in order to respond to your request.  To verify your request, we will ask you to confirm information we have previously collected about you. If we ask you to verify your identity and you do not promptly cooperate, we may be unable to fulfill your request.

We will respond to your rights request within forty-five (45) days from the date we receive it.  In some cases, we may require additional time to complete your request and will inform you if additional time is needed.  Where additional time is needed, we may take up to a maximum of ninety (90) additional days to complete your request.

Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.  If you are using an authorized agent to exercise your rights, App Academy may require that you:

  1. Provide the authorized agent written permission designating them to submit the request on your behalf; and
  2. Verify your own identity directly with App Academy.

App Academy reserves the right to deny a request from an agent that does not submit proof that they have been authorized directly by you to act on your behalf.

App Academy does not offer financial incentives or price or service differences in exchange for the retention or sale of personal information.

  1. International Transfers

App Academy is based in the United States. The personal information that we collect is sent to and stored on servers located in the United States. Such storage is necessary in order to process the information.  We also transfer personal information to our affiliates and/or to the third parties mentioned in the circumstances described above, which may be located outside of your country or regional area, and may be processed by staff, agents, and contractors operating outside of your country or regional area. We take appropriate steps to protect personal information when it is transferred and rely on legally-provided mechanisms to lawfully transfer personal information across borders.

  1. Additional European and International Data Rights

The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation and certain other countries’ data protection laws provide certain rights for data subjects. If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or another country with data protection laws that provide for certain data subject rights, you may submit a request to exercise your rights.  We respond to all requests we receive from individuals wishing to exercise their data rights in accordance with applicable data protection laws.  Depending on your country of residence, your rights may include:
