Diversity & Inclusion

We are committed to cultivating an inclusive environment for students from all backgrounds.

Students from all backgrounds find success

App Academy goes further than any other program in selecting the highest quality student body. Our tuition model allows us to run a truly meritocratic admissions process, where students are selected based on their potential to succeed and not on how much they can pay.

Our grads make over $100k

Our grads more than double their initial salaries prior to joining, and earn a median base salary of $144,000 within three years of graduating App Academy.

I learned more real-world skills in 12 weeks than my Stanford degree taught me.

We care about

Inclusion
We work to create an environment in which people from underrepresented backgrounds are supported and able to succeed.
Empathy and respect
We strive to graduate engineers who are respectful, conscientious members of their teams and communities.
Accessibility
We structure and adapt our program to make careers in tech accessible to people from all backgrounds.

What we're working towards

Tuition accessibility
Our success-based tuition model makes a coding education more accessible to people with diverse financial situations. We also offer deposit assistance to applicants from communities underrepresented in tech.
Resource groups
We offer resource groups for students and staff from backgrounds underrepresented in tech to support each other and build community. Our SRG's include Black, Indigenous, and Latinx, LGBTQ and Women, Trans, and Gender Non-Conforming.
Code of conduct
We take our Code of Conduct seriously. It requires students and staff to treat each other with respect and dignity.
