Placement Protection Policy

Below is an outline of App Academy's Placement Protection Policy. This policy applies to students who select either the Deferred or Financed Tuition payment plan and enrolled on July 8, 2024 or later in our Full-Time or Part-Time Coding Bootcamp. For students who enrolled prior to this date, previous versions of the Tuition Forgiveness Agreement are applicable based on students previously signed contract terms.

Policy Summary

App Academy offers Placement Protection to graduates of our Full-Time and Part-Time Coding Bootcamps, who select either the Deferred or Financed Tuition payment plan. As part of our Placement Protection policy, we will:

  • Grant Full Tuition Forgiveness, if a graduate is not placed in a Qualifying Position within the Eligible Period.
  • Grant Partial Tuition Forgiveness (30%), if the graduate is placed in a Qualifying Position within months 25 to 36 of their Eligible Period.
  • Grant Partial Tuition Forgiveness (20%), if the graduate is placed in a Qualifying Position with total first-year compensation between USD $50,000 to $60,000 in the first 24 months of their Eligible Period.

Terms Apply: Full details of this policy can be found in the Student Enrollment Agreement and the Tuition Forgiveness Agreement.

Definitions

Qualifying Position: Any position that is full-time and has a total first year compensation of USD $50,000 or more. Positions that award a significant amount of equity or options in a company (1% or more) also count as Qualifying Positions.

Eligible Period: The 36-month time frame after a student graduates from App Academy.

Qualifications

To qualify for Placement Protection, a graduate must be able to pass any background checks associated with jobs that they apply for and must conduct a “Good Faith Job Search” that includes adhering to job search requirements for 36 months after graduation, and pursuing continued efforts over the full Eligible Period if a job has not yet been found.

The key elements of a "Good Faith Job Search" include:

  • Applying to the minimum number of jobs set out by the App Academy Career Coach
  • Maintaining a log of application activities
  • Completing all job search-related assignments and tasks
  • Responding to App Academy communications in a timely manner
  • Attending meetings with Career Coaches and other App Academy job search team members
  • Providing documentation if requested to verify a "Good Faith Job Search"

Failure to complete the required elements of a “Good Faith Job Search” can result in Job Search Strikes being given. If a student receives too many Job Search Strikes, App Academy reserves the right to revoke the student’s Placement Protection.
